STARBITE ART

Starbite's art is magical and enthralling. Their work will captivate you with their dynamic use of color, drama, and storytelling. I find a novel sense of nostalgia in their art.

For these reasons and more, this project really pushed me to learn how to make the user interface seamless- to get out of the way of the user so they can connect with the art.

overhauling the design

As a foundation I stripped the stie down to it's most basic functions and established the needs of the artist and their target audience- including fellow and aspiring artists, fans, and potential clients.

I also sought stakeholder input for what they felt their site was missing - and how they hoped it would look and feel.

initial research

I created personas for the two types of users I identified, mapped out a user journey, and conducted a competitive audit. This provided my baseline data that helped me establish what the user's goals were and what my design needed to accomplish for them. Essentially users needed explorable content, purchasable merchandise, and means for contacting the artist.

data aligned designs

With the users values and needs established, I used paper wireframes to efficiently explore different layout and function ideas.
